9.8 Tohatsu - touched a ground wire to the posive and now it will not fire or charge

Any ideas on what all parts I need to replace? It ran for a little while but very rough and it was not charging. Now it it is not firing either.
 
Verify the model precisely (is this a 2 or 4 stroke?) Then check the fuse. Grab your copy of the Factory service manual and your good analog ohm meter, and then you can test the CD.
 
It is a 4 strike 2006. I have power coming out of the CD to the coil - intermittently high DC voltage out of the orange wire. There is no conductivity across the coil.
 
If you are getting over 50v out of the CD using a DVA, and read open circuit from coil primary to ground, you have diagnosed a bad coil.
