Hi, I'm new to this but just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem. When I start the motor it idles at 15 to 16 hundred RPM's. I changed the thermostate, and that did not work. I tried to take it to a shop here in Mt. Vernon, but they just tried to rob me. I have replaced all the gaskets for the intake and now I just waiting on a new control valve (68V-13105-00-00 CONTROL VALVE ASSY) to arrive. I guess there is not one in the U.S. at least that is what yamaha told me. Does anyone know if this will fix my problem? Thanks.

If you dont have a screw to adjust your idle.what i would do is get me a can of carb cleaner and spray around all the gaskets with little short spray at a time and also around your rubber lines.if your ingine picks up rpm then you have a vacum leak there.Alot of people dont agree with this techniqe but it has saved me alot of time and money at times.Make sure you have water going to your engine when you start it. JUST A SUGESTION DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO!!!
