Power trim problem

I have a question on my 40 hp 1994 merc tilt, the motor is not working ( there is power going to it) and the manual release bypass screw is broke off (plastic) so it is stuck in down position, so I cannot trailer it anywhere, my question is can I jack the motor up without breaking or damaging the hydralic pump any help would be appreciate thanks
 
Heat the tip of a phillips screwdriver Just smaller than the screw and jam it into the broken plastic screw; hold it in position until it cools a little. Remove it until the plastic cools completely then insert the screwdriver and turn the screw.
