Yamaha 30hp4stroke / Delay when trying to start motor

When I turn the key to start position, there is a momentary turn of the motor, then a 2-second delay, then it resumes crank until it starts. What may be causing this delay - a bad starter or solenoid energizing? Thank you.
 
Is there something wrong with the motor ???--------------------try turning the flywheel by hand or with a rope and see if everything is smooth .---------------Battery is in tip top shape ???
