DP-C1 trim cylinder rebuild replace or rebuild with kit?

Hi Guys,
I've got a pair of trim cyls. on my DP-C1 in need of rebuilding/replacement which have been heated and cooled several times in an attempt to remove the metal line nuts. Heat has also been in contact with the end of the cylinders which have the transom shield pins passing thru them while heating the transom for pin removal. One of the metal line nuts snapped off inside the cyl. even with the application of mild heat. I suppose the others will suffer the same fate as the boat has been in salt water all of it's life. Do you think they are worth saving /rebuilding after extracting the broken nut/nuts or is replacement a better bet as I suspect heat may have caused some dimensional changes to the housings? As you already know the price of new cylinders is insane. I have seen some rebuild kits for sale which are under one hundred dollars which are tempting but I don't want any problems for a couple of years. Have rebuilds been successful?

Thanks,
Jon Allen
