Converting to electric fuel pump?

Not a good idea unless you can come up with a way for the pump to shut off automatically if the motor stops running.
 
I just thought turning the key off would be a good way to kill it. I think its all the old lines getting brittle and gonna replace them with new but thought a little pulse pump would cut out some of the parts to go bad.

I have used the Holly 12-801 Elect. fuel pump on all outboards I rebuild and have never had a problem with one, It will not over pressureize you carbs, and it will keep up with your motor.
