DOL-FIN Cavition trouble

Have trouble with my outboard mtr cavating. Wanting to know if someone here has ever used one of those fins that installs on the cavitation plate of any mtr;and will those products help correct my problem. I have heard they are supposed to get the boat up on a plane faster and improve gas milage but do they help with my problem? Ithink they are called Dol-Fin. Thanks.
 
Cavitation is when the prop has defects(Dings, dents and chips) causing low pressure spots that turn the water to steam. Hence engine rpms rise and boat slows down.
Ventilation is when the prop is too close to the surface and it sucks air from above the water with the same result as above. Which is yours doing?

Take your prop to a re-conditioner and let him give you his opinion.
