Discovered rainwater entered carb through crack in breather cover and hydrolocked engine. After about two weeks and a starter repair, I realized problem, drained water through spark plug holes, fogged engine and ran it the rest of the season. (several months)
Had mechanic winterize system and change oil, then six months later I start using boat again, dumb and happy until I start reading posts about the proper way to remove moisture from engine. My question is do I probably have engine rust damage and what should I do about it at this point? Start the oil coctails and multiple drains, or go on and dont look back? The merc oil looks fine and all seems well but are there minor tell tales I should be looking for or checking.
