my 1999 Johnson 90 hp is missing/sputtering/spitting. it cranks fine, but doesnt sound smooth. if you run the rpm's up, it definitely is missing.
so i took the spark plug wires off one at a time and determined the engine doesn't change tone when #1 cylinder wire is removed. Pulled the plug and it is wet, so it is getting fuel. Took the spark plug out of the block and it is sparking when grounded on the block.
i just took the carbs off and cleaned them. I am fairly certain this is not a compression issue. what am i missing here?
