Honda 130 outboard

My honda 130hp is not charging the battery, and the volt meter is only showing 12volt , which is the battery level, and the buzzer in dash is bussing.
What is the problem?
The fuses, near the battery, are OK

Check you 90 amp fuse. It is one the rear port side of the engine in a black plastic case. If you attached your battery cables backwards for just a second, it will blow.

Check alternator belt tension. It should be a tight as a banjo string.

Check the connections on the alternator. Reseat the plug.

Make sure that the wire coming off of the post on the alternator has 12v to it. The keyswitch does not have to be turned on.

If all the above is good, take the alternator to an alternator shop to have it checked.

Other things that can affect it, but probably are not the problem...since you can start the motor...are the battery connections. Make sure they are clean and tight. And may sure the battery is good and strong.
