from stop, goes into gear fine, rev to 2000 rpm, then revs high but no prop spin? thinking maybe prop rubber letting go/ any ideas, leg and gears seem lovely...thx wellcraft

If not your prop, you could have spun the rubber hub on the engine coupler.
rubber hub on eng coupler? the shaft from motor to prop is all gears.runs great out of the hole till 2000rpm.doesnt the leg shaft connect solidly to the flywheel(crankshaft)?and if there is a rubber coupler there wouldnt it just spin even on idle? thx wellcraft

try yr spare prop,c what happens
props coming off in the am..we'll see ? but if looks ok? try a demo i guess. wierd that it would stay together till around 2000rpm. its a stainless with manufacturer pressed rubber with copper sleeve, not a removeable hard plastic collar..???????? first ive come across in 20+ yrs......

Ayuh,... It's either the Prop, or the Coupler...
doesnt the leg shaft connect solidly to the flywheel(crankshaft)

The coupler mounts to the flywheel, 'n the drive slips into it...

Ditto, coupler or prop. It is not a solid all metal connection from engine to drive. There is rubber involved just like the prop. Hope it's the prop, unfortunately, youhave to remove the engine to get to the coupler.
