Hi - My outboard will normally start when cold and will start after a brief rest (10 minutes) but if I leave off for 1 hr, it won't start. After several hours, it will start again. Any Ideas?

What's the idle set at?Should be about 750-800rpm.
Anything been done to the carbs?
They might need cleaning and the floats reset.
Reset the air screws.
Change all the hoses and fuel pump diaphram.
I had a 88/85 that wouldn't start right.I ended up triming it up all the way and trying to start it while it's up.
Once it pops/coughs or starts.Lower it and try to start it again.J

Thanks Cisco. I don't use the primer bulb often but I have noticed that it doesn't get as firm anymore. Never have checked fuel filter so, I guess I better. Thanks for your help !!

You say you dont use primer bulb that often.I am assuming you know that you should run it out of gas when done after each trip? The gas now days will tarnish the carbs and eventually cause them not to perform properly.Just in case you didnt know!!Let us know how it turns out.
