no reverse

I have a 1967 natuline i backed out of slip just fine went to fuel pumps backed up when i got back to slip i didn't have any reverse.The lever moves freely and you can see cable move on top of trans. The boat has a 318 chrysler i dont know what type off tranny, if any one has any ideas on why it will not go into reverse please respond thanks
 
Check the pins in the linkage. If you have a dana 90 outdrive these pins are small and break easily. Some people drill these out and use larger pins.
