There is waterleaking in the boat from the stern drive area. From what i can see the bellows look and feel tight, they were replaced about 3 years ago.when we put the boat in the water i can look behind the motor and see water slowly running in but can't figure out where it is coming in.

I would say that you have a ripped bellow as a first guess, you may not see it immediately but with a little pokin and proddin you will find it

Or the whole drive is loose on the transom.

Can to tighten it down a little ?

See transom rot can and will allow the drive to drop.

If that happens your alignment goes out. Then the coupler goes out.

So then you will be in a leaky boat with no way to get back in.

Well maybe if you have a paddle.

The trasom it very strong , but i will try to tightening the mounting bolt,
i took the exhaust bellow off and inspected it and that one looked good.
1. Will water leak in the boat if the exhaust bellow is cracked it looks like it would just fill the exhaust discharge up?
2.is it poosible to looosen the other bellow and inspect it and put back to gether with out removing the hole back end?

Tried to tighten the mounting bolts- they were tight
Tore the back the lower unit off checked the bellows- They looked brand new with no signs of water any were.
Found a loose bolt on the inside behind the motor where the 2 halfs of exhaust discharge bolt together ( This was very very hard to reach and tighten up)
Put every thing together and will try tomorrow in the water.
Thanks for replying with things to try.
