After years of pencil marks and masking tape I FINALLY ordered and got timing tape for my 8.2s... as the harmonic balancers had no visible degree marks other than the deep groove for TDC... so instructions on the tape say to remove all paint before applying, so I sanded and sanded, and what did I find under all that pretty blue paint? DEGREE MARKS as neat as can be...
So, anyone need two rolls of timing tape for 8 inch balancers??? going really cheap.
Or just sand the #$%^ paint off of them.
 
I'd put them on anyway. I doubt the marks on the balancer will give you total advance, which should be checked. Best to use the tape and a regular timing light rather than advance featured light. More accurate that way.
