VST filter

ive been looking on this alot and noticed that alot of people talk about that filter. i might be having some fuel issues do four strokes have one?
 
A four stroke fuel injected has the plastic bowl you see on the back (yes it has a cartridge) and the vst filter behind the intake manifold you can not see it until you remove the intake on a previous thread they have a good pic
