Good day, cant get on the plane quickly, using a Force 17P prop, i was told to put a smaller prop on but can only get merc props where i am, so i want to try the 48 73142 16P and 48 73140 15p, now problem comes in what spacer do i us, as the force prop and merc props have different prop inner housings , can i use a merc spacer.

What boat?Size etc??RPM"s at wot? Just changing props might not fix anything?
Do a compression/spark test before you spend any $$.
 
the boat is a kafue sprite made 1978 in Zambia, heavy duty hull, on the heavy side i would say, about 18ft long IMG00038-20110520-1331.jpg not tried it on the water as the person that gave it to me insisted i change the prop, the gauges not working as never been connected, i am trying to figure it out how to get the gauges to work from the motor, ie rev, the speedo i have put the connecting pressure pipe in, but not tested it yet, the motor is brand new never worked as the starter was lost and never used.
