My AQ145a engine wont start but itll back fire

i have an AQ145a engine. I replaced the ignition parts using an ignition kit but it still wont start. Before replacing the old parks, it wouldn't back fire but now it does. What should i do next? I havent changed the plugs or plug wires. i need to get the boat started within the next 6 weeks, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
 
Well it doesn't backfire through the carburetor, just the exhaust. Is there a way to set the timing without it running because it won't start yet?
