thanks for the help ..i have found a website with all the partsbooks for the force range ,,can you give me any idea how to confirm what it is ,,i.e ..are there any parts only fitted to the 70 or 90 etc ,,,cheers
 
To narrow it down, that engine can either be a 70 or 90hp, The 70 has a little restrictor on the front of the carb, yours doesnt so it can only be a 90hp, unless obviously it has been changed...
And the years and model codes I have given you, that was the only time that ignition system was used...

Go to boats.net look up the 70 hp in the 90"s years with one carb.Get your carb #s and go looking.
I was right about the 70/90 70 has 1 carb 90 has 3
