BF 225 speedometer

For quite a while now, my speedometer is staying at 0 mph no matter the speed. It does not have the speedometer wheel or the thing that dips below the hull. I think it gets the reading from one of the small holes in the lower unit (it's a 2004)? There hasn't been water below the driver's console. Could it be one of the intake holes are plugged? If so, which one is it and how do you unplug it? Thanks.

There is a small hole on the front of the lower unit. I believe it is right below the anti-cavatation plate. They are notorious for getting plugged up. A lot of folks simply bypass it with an external pitot tube mounted on the transom. You can get them from West Marine or Overton's, and several other places.
