Johnson 9.9 spin prop maybe?

I got a 9.9 Johnson 1978. Seems to run great. Trolling ok. A little more then trolling ok, But when I get on it, it fills Like I am hitting something in the water every few seconds. It looks like the thrush washer and the end of the propeller have spin marks on them. Can anybody give me a little insight on this problem:confused:
 
No rev up just feels like i hit something every 4 or 5 seconds. I'm going to pull it in a week or so and take a look. If i can i'm going to reverse the clutch dog and see how that works.
