I've got a 19 inch pitch on my 82 115, on a 16 foot Sidewinder. I'm guessing that your boat is heavier, with more drag, so a 17 inch pitch should do you. Only real way to test is using your tach (mainly) and speedo, make sure you don't overrev the motor, or lug it either. More trial and error than anything, unless you have a good mechanic to point you in the right direction.
