I have a 2004 Tohatsu 50 TLDI with approx 100 hours. A few days ago while traveling the motor shut off while in idle. We checked and it was a little low on oil. Put oil in it and ran home fine. Ran it again later that day no problems. The boat has sat a couple days now and when I started it today I have what sounds like a rod knocking.
I am not familiar with these motors and would appreciate and direction someone could give with where to start troubleshooting.
