I have read a posting for info. on stated motor. I have a Mariner 8HP serial # 647 S 27448, the previous person with a similar serial No. was given good inf. that has helped me. My engine is running well, but I want to service it. I have no manual to do that. I have purchased "Seloc" manuals "1701 & 1404"; They do not have much information on this motor. Many have suggested it was made by "Yamaha" around 1971-1972. The person I purchased it from said to use leaded gas with the 2 stroke engine.
