i S it possible to By pass trim limit switch

Hi everyone,
Wave Dancer here my first time on a forum so please help me out.
I have a really nice 1995 searay200 5.0 lx motor alpha1 od my trim up is no longer working. I have the trailer up switch on bottom right side of contoler
whitch still brings motor all the way up fine trim down works fine. To fix trim limit I have been told 800to1000 dollars aaarghh. Then I talked to my boat mechanic ,where I bought my boat in2007 He told me he won't even do this job because it is to problematic, and very difficult.He told me to just jump out the trim limit switch and don't even worry about it I do have gauge to show where trim is. He made it sound as though this is the way to go. I'm looking to see if this is really true or not. thanx

Changing the trim limit switch is not a $800-$1000 job! Its 2 hours plus the parts. You should have the trim limit working. It is your only line of defense if your trim switch get stuck in the up position while under power.

I've also read some people cleaning this switch, can you describe to me the procedure to do so

There is no procedure to clean the switch. You need to replace the limit switch.

If you need a quick fix bypass for now and leave it to where it can easily be fixed later
