Losing spark.....

Allo, I have Accel distributors on my crusaders. They are electronic (no points). I have been having an issue on one with hard starts, and upon closer exam, read- spark test light, have found intermittent loss of spark on the center (coil) terminal of the dist. I replaced the module, with no change, cannot yet find a pickup coil. But, I think that would be the only thing left....any thoughts? Obviously have already tested and or replaced the cap/rotor, wiring, and connections. Thanks.
 
re checked the wiring again today....no change. Went to store and bought a new coil......waaalaaaa, problem seems to be gone. Time will tell. Is there any way to keep them cooler? They are mounted right next to the exhaust, thats from the factory. Thanks
