" I have a 91 60hp Mercury with a voltage reading of 16volts at 2000rpm. Is this normal on a charging system with no voltage regulator. If this is not normal, what regulates the voltage? The rectifier? The stator? Please help!!! "

" Are you sure you do not have a voltage regulator? It should be under the black cover, next to the rectifier. Any motor with electric start and charging capabilities will have one. "
