Two 5.7 270s silent but intermittant

After new batteries fuses, key switch check, have two motors that start when they want too.
Started fine, then silence, then started, then nothing. Voltage to key switches 12 plus
All the basics gas, etc fine.
Baffled thanks
 
Thanks I mean running ready to go fishing. At least for a moment in time. ;
:). Tried moving transmissions. Do they tie into the key switch or that relay near it?
 
If they have electric fuel pumps, there is a safety switch at the oil pressure sensor. That could cause this; it won't be related to the transmission start switch.
 
Thanks all. Defying basic troubleshooting, I had two different faulting wiring issues manifest on the same day.
Starboard engine was the fuse holder was just not making good enough connection for consistent starts.
Port Engine harness at the engine, had the power wire finally give out though it looked connected.

I guess the lesson learned was that a few days ago before going out, I had to turn the key more than once to start the engine, one time nothing, the next it started. I guess I'll listen to her next time.
