1980s 115 mariner outboard motor problems

i have a 1980s 115hp mariner outboard i used to have a little problem takin off not as good as it used to now it just revs all the way up and goes maybe 5 mph it just wont move i am wondering what u think is wrong with it? i dont know much about motors as im only 17 and bought boat a few years ago heard its something with the lower end? any info would help thanks in advance
 
any way i can tell if the props bad by just lookin at it?and what kind of propeller should i get its on a 18 foot renken used for fishing but it use to jump right out of the water and top out at around 43mph if that helps any

Try your local prop shop.-------------They can check it in minutes and likely free , if you show cash to buy a good prop.
