Mariner 40M, what year please ?

Motor says its a Mariner 40M, code= 6E9 S, serial number = 008422

can't find any info on it online, thanks for the help

Thanks SO MUCH Cliff!!........ i think i need the carbs rebuilt.......motor runs good at all but low rpm's, there it sputters and runs rough........at least now i know what i have, thanks again !
