I'm trying to remove the unit from my center consol so I can replace my control cables. Does anyone know how the plastic hood comes off once the 4 screws at the base are removed? It seems loose but something keeps it from lifting off. I did not get a manual with it when I acquired the boat, though I have looked at a schematic by googling for the image and am still unclear why it won't lift off.
