Problem keeping engine running without choke opened..

Hi,

I have a 10hp 2 stroke yamaha, only 4 years old. The engine starts with the choke open but cuts out when closed. I had noticed water in the petrol tank so have changed that, cleaned out the carburetor and washed out piston chambers with petrol but still have problems.

Any advice is welcome
