My 5 year old Riptide 101 squeeks when running at low rpm. Sounds like it needs a shot of oil. 1. what about removing the electric motot access plate and giving the shaft a shot of oil? 2. if I do that, will a new gasket be needed?
I have had this trolling motor for five years and during that time I have had to replace the shaft, the armature and the circuit board. I would like to get another 6 or 8 months out of this motor before I buy a new one.
