Peeing Cold... Thermostat Location? 2000 50 hp (BF50)

Hello all,
I've got a 2000 BF50. Last time I was flushing it, after 15 minutes the water was still coming out cold. Previously the water would get hot within 5 to 10 minutes....
I am a bit concerned that the thermostat may be stuck. Can someone clue me in to the location of the thermostat? I am having the hardest time locating it. Do I need to remove the lower cover?

I kind of thought it may be that, but coming from an automotive background with this first outboard, I was looking for something with a hose attached to it....

So I guess you are not too concerned with the salt build-up in the cooling passages?
Not sure where you are located, but I did post the motor for sale localy to see if I get any interest and got a few replies already. I am in the Los Angeles area and listed the motor for $2600.
