MS3B slip clutch

I was trying to repack the stuffing boxes on my boat but ran into a problem. The port engine is a smidgen more aft than the starboard and I cannot get the gland out far enough to service it. Is there a way to remove the slip clutch without removing the transmission? Can I remove the transmission without too much trouble? The coupling is stuck on the end of the shaft, so I cannot pull the shaft. Help!

Problem solved. I realized I could move the stuffing box aft if I trimmed the hose. I was able to remove the nuts and open a gap of about 1/4 of an inch. Luckly I found out that their was no packing in there to begin with. Off to Autozone for a roll of flax stuffing.
