drain plugs 1987 crusader 350

Re: drain plugs 87 crusader 350

Pro: quicker to drain the connected cavity, when required.

Con: more money, cheaper ones will corrode and bind requiring removal, can be rendered useless if enough crud accumulates at the petcock's inlet.

FWIW, most new engines have gone to plastic plugs....probably for the past 20 years or so.

Re: drain plugs 87 crusader 350

I vote con, since the open petcock will not pass debris as large as the tapped hole.

Re: drain plugs 87 crusader 350

Ditto. I have to poke out the 5/16 dia hole in the block. manifolds, and risers at times to get the water flowing.

Jeff

PS: With 6 plugs per motor (times 2) I made them all the same socket size and type to simplify things.
