trying to rebuild water puimp on 1991 90hp yamaha

I am trying to replace the impeller on a 1991 90hp yamaha tlrq model.got the manual but cant seem to locate where to separate the shift lever.HELP Ican feel an area down inside but shifting to reverse still doesnt access it.
 
I do not think there is anything to disconnect --------splined shiftrod i believe.-----------Take all the bolts out and the lower unit should drop.
 
Thanks for the help.I have a seloc manual but it wasnt real clear.I removed the bolts required but it seems to be stuck at the back side toward the propeller. I have removed the bolt at the trim tab but still no go.It seems ive heard about applying heat to this area will help.Whatr about using a propane torch like for sweating copper? thanks again for the help.
 
thanks for all that replied. Had I took the trim tab off completely I would have seen it. Found it fine problem solved. Thanks
