120 v4 , Oil leak at front of exhaust housing, between housing and lower unit.

After running in test tank , a small amount of oil is leaking from the front of the exhaust housing at the lower unit. Is the oil from the crankcase head assembly seal?

It doesn't seem possible for the lower unit oil to leak up through the shaft bearing housing seals and new water pump o-rings.

The shift rod housing has new o-rings., and the gasket was sealed with OMC compound.

The tuning megaphone has a new exhaust seal .

Is the condition normal for a 93' model? Could the gas/oil mix leak from the crankcase head seal and run down the shaft , and accumulate on top of the lower unit at the shift rod housing and leak through.

Quite simply this is normal for outboards that have run in a test tank or on a hose.------------Nothing to do with the 93 model year whatsoever.-----------------This is simply from the exhaust.
