Engine starts and runs for 5+ seconds and stops only after pumping through fuel or having almost full throttle.

Not much history but here goes.----------------If it sat with fuel in the carburetors for a long time or the fuel is old then try this, drain all old fuel, clean all carburetors.-----You must take carburetors apart and clean them meticulously , no short cuts on this job.
