Idle speed

Anybody out there running 340's....???

I'm trying to decide on a cam that will idle low enough in one.

No..... I'm replacing a cam on a rebuilt 340 and I happen to have
access to a 4 speed replacement purple shaft cam that's 228/235
duration and 429/444 lift. A question arose about the fact that they
like a 800 rpm idle. My old 318 idled at 600 or 700 but I don't
necessarily know what the recommended idle is. i learned the hard
way with my stern drive to keep the idle as low as possible.
