Serial number "missing"

I have acquired a Chrysler 9.9, which I plan to rehab. The previous owner thinks it's a mid-1970s vintage, but I am unable to locate the MSO plate/stamping to verify anything. I have looked all over the transom clamp and can't find it. Can anyone tell me where it might be hiding?

Look under the cover in the motor compartment.Front under the carb or that area.Post a pic someone might have an idea what year it is.J
 
Thank you sir, I plan to do that this morning. The cover latch seemed to be seized, so I doused it with solvent last night. Hope I have better luck with it today. Clockwise rotation, right?
 
Despite the solvent, I needed pliers to operate the cover latch. Can't imagine why there's so much resistance. But never mind that for now -- I found the MSO plate right where you said it would be. Model 907; SN: 3024 Seems like a pretty low number. Early '70s???

Don't know what lock system U have but some come apart and can be cleaned and greased.
