2003 Yamaha 50hp 2cycle

I believe that is the correct engine year. May be an 02- just don't have the boat handy to look at the motor. The problem is this - every year we have to clean out the lower carb that gets mucked up before the engine will run properly. Sometimes even a cleaning during the season. Some have said to remove oil injection and do a straight gas and oil mix. Has Yamaha had an issue with this engine clogging the lower carb - or are we not doing a proper clean after using the motor? How should we run this engine clean to prevent this issue?

Straight gas goes thru the carburetor and the oil is injected seperately behind the carburetor.--------Inspect the check valves on the oil injection lines. Always run carburetors dry when done boating.

run a fuel stabilizer now with todays cheaper gas
