Re: Flywheel 350QL ?
There are only two size flywheels used...... 153 tooth, and 168 tooth.
In reading Thetumbleweed's recent thread, some of these use a conventional starter motor installation....( i.e., mounted to the engine block..... not the flywheel cover.)
If your starter motor mounts to the engine block, then the bolt pattern will be indicative of the number of teeth on the flywheel..... or visa-versa!
Straight across bolt pattern = 153 tooth.
Staggered bolt pattern = 168 tooth.
If you know your starter motor attachment bolt pattern, then you will know the flywheel tooth count.
If mounted to the flywheel cover....... then you're on your own!
I can't suggest whether or not the flywheel can be removed while raising the enigne up........ I'd be inclined to think so!
It is best if laid on a work bench for the ring gear replacement, IMO.
These are heat-shrunk to fit..... and we must install one quickly.... or turn and heat the perimeter as you go.
Brass tools ONLY!
Do NOT over-heat the ring gear!
Good luck with it!
