Can anyone help please, I have a 1991 2 stroke merc 60hp 3 cycl outboard..goes well but have discovered oil leaking out the carbs.
Had a quick poke about but cant see anything unusual.
Can anyone offer a suggestion of where to start please.

its not unusual for gas to leak from the carbs when tilted. The gas evaporates and leaves the oil behind=normal

Yes I agree this can be the case ..but the fuel hose is not attached and there is a rather large pool of oil. It even appears to be running down the inside of the motor housing and coming out down near the water intake. There is oil running down oveer thew prop and onto the ground
I tilted the motor and watched the oil drip out.
The air cover for the carbs has lots of oil sitting inside it which I drained.
My thoughts are is seems there could be a valvle stucl open in or near the crabs that allows the oil and fuel to mix

take the cap off the oil tank and see if there is or was a pressure build up, have you moved your remote oil RES?
