Hi All;
I am sure this has been asked before, but I can't find too much information on my search attempts, so for those who have done this before;
I am thinking of replacing my worn out 1990 Alpha One/MR drives and transom assemblies with new Apha Gen II units. (BTW...I am a hobby mechanic, have done all my own drive maintenance for the last 20 years, so I am quite comfortable with doing the labour myself)
What are the main issues in the swap?
Is there any diferences in the transom holes to accomodate the swap betwen these two units? Do the mounting bolts in the transom assemblies use the same pattern?
Is there any issues with swapping the two old right hand drives with with a nice counter-rotating pair?
Are there any other serious issues in doing the swap?
Cheers, and thanks!
