Thanks for the reply. The gas tank is on the right side by the engine which is the original location. No water was in the hull and the watermark was visible on the stern board. It just sits naturally there. It must have been no problem for the previous owners. It must have been used as a go fast and ski boat as intended. You can tell that it shipped water all of the time and has a nice bilge pump that handled it well. That's just the way it's made. I think the only way to correct that for my uses would be to swap out for a lighter engine. It floats low at the rear like a big bass boat does. When I get it into the water again, I'll run it with the trimwork on the back and leave the bow and half sides flat to see how that works. The bow might turn down the wake on it's own but it is very wide and shallow and I might be getting fairly wet. We'll see. Jim Chapter by Chapter, verse by verse.
