I need some help here.......I'm a rookie here and know nothing about engines but need to learn......I just bought a 1965 Century 17 foot Resorter that I will be restoring. The engine is a Gray Marine V-8, model #V8CH-238, Serial number: X-6564. It is painted kind of an orange......I'm told it is original engine that came with the boat but don't know for sure....Can anybody tell me a good place to start in identifying and working on this engine? What the hell is a "Fireball"? I just need to know where to start here......engine is out of the boat and I was told it was in running condition when the previous owner used it last........Any suggestions please???
