Older model 30hp Mariner, don't know it's year model.

I'm new here so please bear with me. I've got an older model Mariner 30hp outboard and I don't know what year model it is. It's a model 30EL, serial # 689 L 415483. It came with a boat I bought last year. I don't really need the 30, what I really need is a 9.9 for the lakes here close to home. Before I can seriously advertise it I need to know the year model. Any Ideas as to how I'd find out? Thanks.
 
Thanks a bunch. I knew it was an older motor but didn't realize it was 25 yrs. old. It runs like a top, just hope I can sell it to get a 9.9. Thanks again for your help. Too bad I can't put 9.9 decals on it and keep on running it LOL!
