Default 50hp 1989 Johnson Fuel ratio

    Hi

    I have just purchased a 1989 50hp Johnson (J50TLCCS) outboard.

Is anyone able to verify what the correct fuel to oil ratio should be for this engine ?

    Thanks

    Matt

If the so called " automatic mixing " unit is bypassed you need to mix 50:1 for normal use and maybe 45:1 for continuous full throttle work.

Thanks for the quick reply, I cannot see any 'Automatic Mixing' device, so I will assume it will be 50:1.

    Regards

    Matt
