Last week I purchased a 1964 Fiberglass Dorsett cabin-type cruiser (20FT). Still has the Ford Interceptor motor in it connected to an EATON outdrive. Any suggestions for how i can figure out what model interceptor it is?

Do you have any pictures? Is the motor a six cylinder? / flywheel forward? They did use Ford 144 and 170 CI "Falcon" motors in them.

I have a 170CI "straight inboard" in my 64 Correct Craft, rated at 100hp. I think the 144 was rated at 85hp. hope this helps?

Got 'er figured out. Thanks. The motor is an interceptor 221 Cu In, 140HP, V8, RH Rotation. also found out that the drive unit is a Series 14 Eaton drive.

Eaton did have a drive years ago!

Good luck with parts these days!

Eaton also arranged for their name to appear on a run of early 200/250 Volvo Penta drives, and they looked similar to this.

Pictures would be helpful. :)

BTW, single engine installations were typically Standard LH rotation. (rotation is viewed from the flywheel side)
Volvo's cone clutch will not work with RH rotation engines.
